The morning started off warm and sunny in St. George, Utah. The wedding preparations began in the early morning hours. Mya and her bridesmaids were up after dawn preparing her hair and makeup for Temple. Before we knew it, the wedding couple, Mya and Anthony, headed to the temple to be wed. In the meantime, the venue staff at The Springs were in full setup swing – setting ceremony chairs and putting linens on the tables.
The linen ceremony backdrop was primarily designed by the loving hands of Mya’s bridesmaids and maid of honor. The bows tied behind each rows aisle chair, delicately tied by Mya’s maid of honor. The paper parasol, newspaper and wooden fans were prepared by the Bash team, along with the order of events and welcome columns placed just behind the final row of chairs.
After the Tempe celebrations had concluded, Mya had returned back to the bridal suite to continue getting ready for ceremony. Once she arrived back onsite, she had gone for a sneak peek of the venue preparations and left her mark on the linen ceremony backdrop. The Bash team began preparing the guest tables with chargers, utensils, napkins, table numbers, candle holders and candles, and martinelli’s flutes. Shortly there after, the groomsmen arrived onsite and were so eager to lend a helping hand.
Wind. The elements were present in the mid afternoon. Speeds of at least 10 mph, the linen ceremony backdrop was having a fun back and forth swaying moment. The groomsmen and the Bash team got innovative and decided to create a yarn line behind the backdrop to prevent it from fully flying backwards – distracting from the look of the backdrop. Once secured, the vendor team started arriving in waves. First the photographer (Savannah B Photo), content creator (Not Jess Content, then video team (Jada Lee Photo & Film).
As the clock struck 3pm, the Bash team was in final prep mode. Savannah (photo) and Jess (content) were in full capture mode starting with detail photos, capturing Mya and the bridesmaids next. Mya and the bridesmaids were adorned in silk pajama sets, accompanied by paper parasols and newspapers. Once hidden away, it was now Anthony and the groomsmen’s time to shine. The classic walk up groom and groomsmen photo was captured as well as a few portraits of Anthony.
At last, it was time for Myalyn to change into her dress, in preparation for the first look with her father and her bridesmaids. Savannah and Jess found the perfect spot for the father-daughter first look, while The Bash team guided Myalyn’s father to the first look spot. Once Myalyn’s father was in place, the magic that is the father-daughter first look happened. The photo and content team captured the sweetest photo’s and videos of the moment.
Soon after, Myalyn met her bridesmaids for the bridesmaids first look and took some adorable bridesmaids photos.
Things were falling into place and before we knew it, it was time for ceremony. Thirty minutes before ceremony, the Bash team made sure everyone walking down the aisle was accounted for and assigned some groomsmen to usher guests once they arrived. Due to the wind and scorching temperatures of the late afternoon, the Bash team waited until the thirty minute mark to set out the aisle petals so they looked fresh for ceremony. The moment we were all waiting for, guest arrival.
Guests began to take their seats, with their paper parasols in hand. The Bash team lined up the wedding party in order to prepare for the processional down the aisle. With Myalyn hidden away, and Anthony in position below the venues main steps, it was time to give the DJ the thumbs up.
Anthony made his way towards the altar and was greeted by Myalyn’s paternal Uncle, the Officiant. The processional started with Myalyn’s Mother and two youngest brothers. Followed by Anthony’s Mother and Myalyn’s younger brother (the eldest of the brothers), and Anthony’s Father and Step Mother.
The Wedding Party had begun to make their way down the aisle, leading with Myalyn’s Jr. Bridesmaid, followed (walking in couples) by their 5 bridesmaids and groomsmen, and finally Myalyn’s Maid of Honor and Anthony’s Best Man. The bridesmaids stood behind Anthony and groomsmen standing on Myalyn’s side so they could watch their beloved friends faces during ceremony. Myalyn’s maternal Uncle, the Flower Man, made his way down the aisle in the fashion that one flower man would – with hype, excitement and you guessed it, a flower petal fanny pack and sunglasses!
The Bride had a very special twist before walking down the aisle to meet her groom. The story behind this special twist is her maid of honor’s mother recommended she leave a voice message for Anthony to hear right before she walked down the aisle! Myalyn did just that! Her special twist was a voicemail proclaiming how much she loved Anthony and how she was so excited to finally become husband and wife. And now the moment everyone was waiting for…
Myalyn was accompanied by her father as she walked down the aisle. Myalyn had beautiful bouquet made by By Bloomers out of St. George, Utah, made up of roses and cascading orchids. Myalyn wore the most beautiful smile the whole way down the aisle.
Up next was the Officiant’s welcome speech which turned into everyone finding out Myalyn is “famous” on tik tok with her 50K+ followers, some jokes followed! Shortly thereafter, Myalyn and Anthony’s shared vows and there was not one dry eye in the crowd. My favorite lines from Myalyn’s vows were “But Anthony, if you must steal, steal away my sorrow, if you must lie, lie with me all the nights of my life, and if you must cheat, please cheat death.” My favorite lines from Anthony’s vows were “One of the most important things I have ever done was taken a vow to be sealed to you for all time and eternity. And that is not just for this life, that is for the next one too.”
Shortly thereafter, rings were exchanged finally Myalyn and Anthony were pronounced married!
The cocktail hour started shortly thereafter, with delicious and refreshing lemonade beverages from The Lemon Drop Mobile Bar, pretzels from Wetzel’s Pretzels, and charcuterie boards filled with all the meat and cheese goodies you can imagine. The venue team began flipping the lawn from ceremony to dinner service, while guests mingled by the mobile bar and on the upper level of the venue. During this time, our newlyweds were off taking sunset portraits – the first photos together as Mr. and Mrs.
After fully setting the lawn, the couple and wedding party made their grand entrance, and they went straight into the champagne tower, followed by dances – first dance and family dances with Myalyn and her Paternal Grandmother (a dedication to her late grandfather), her dad, and then Anthony and his mother.
Once dinner had ended, the DJ, a family friend, called all guests and couples to the dancefloor to play “Thank God” by Kane and Katelyn Brown. Couples of all ages joined the bride and the groom on the dance floor for the first open slow dance song.
Once the song had ended, our newlywed couple headed to the upper level of the venue to their private cake cutting. The cake, made by Frosted by Danzi, of St. George, was beautifully decorated with two tiers and a bow. When I say flash photography is always a good idea, this is my golden example of it! Once the cake cutting formalities concluded, our couple joined their guests on the dance floor and danced the night away.
A crowd favorite, “Jaja Ding Dong”, began to play, and suddenly there wasn’t an inch of dance floor left open. The DJ played all of the couples favorite hits and the dance floor was always filled with happy wedding guests.
The night quickly came to an end with a sparkler Grand Exit in their matching Mr. and Mrs. sweatsuits. Once the car was started, they were off to continue the celebrations as husband and wife!
